Play to Train (Approx 9-18 weeks) New puppies are welcome every week!
Age exceptions can be made for toy or small breed puppies or puppies that are shy/timid and need more socialization opportunities.
Puppy Essential classes are always on-going unless otherwise noted, please check the Class Calender for information on cancelled classes.
Every class has opportunities for free puppy play time so the puppies can develop their canine social skills and help their bite inhibition training. The first week of each month the puppies get to try their paws on a variety of puppy agility obstacles to help boost their confidence and develop trust with family members. Family members will learn how to target and communicate with the puppies using hand signals.
Puppy Essentials classes cover the following skills...
- Taking Treats Gently
- Training Bite Inhibition
- Name
- Self Control
- Sit
- 4 On the Floor (no jumping)
- Handling
- Preventing Resource Guarding
Please bring your puppy to class on a flat - buckle/snap - collar or harness and 4-6' leash (No Flexi's)
Please also bring your puppy on an empty stomach if possible along with their dinner kibble and some soft treats.
IMPORTANT VACCINATION INFORMATION - Many veterinarians recommend waiting to start puppy classes until 7-10 days after receiving their Bordetella vaccination, along with at least one Distemper & Parvovirus vaccination. If you have any concerns, or do not have a copy of your puppy's medical record, check with your veterinarian clinic.
